Earlier this summer we took a long weekend trip to Leavenworth, Washington. The drive is only 2 1/2 hours and it’s a great getaway spot to escape from the city. We stayed in the Lower Johnny Creek campsite. There are great hiking trails all around this area. The added benefit of camping here is that you are so close to the city of Leavenworth that you can go into town for meals or supplies and come back to your campsite for a quiet evening.
